A WEEKEND IN THE “BIG APPLE”

2016 began on a really chill, relaxed note. I had juggled with a few different ways to possibly bring in the new year but in the end I decided to do neither. As some of you may recall, when BEYOND BMORE was created I had much more in mind than just showcasing the various trips I’ve taken. I knew that besides just creating a travel blog, I had a much bigger purpose. MEET GEMAR PATTERSON

Gemar was raised in northeast Baltimore, where he attended Baltimore City College High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Salisbury University in 2007 and his law degree from American University Washington College of Law in 2011. He is currently a Managing Attorney at the Universal Title office in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. FIGHT OR FLIGHT?

Fight-or-Flight response– a physiological reaction that occurs in response to a perceived harmful event, attack, or threat to survival. Oh Baltimore… where do I begin? Should I start with the 344 homicides in 2015? How about the ridiculous property taxes, abandoned homes and pothole filled streets? Or maybe I’ll talk about our sad and embarrassing school system.
